White Center Night Market โ A Community Success Story
The White Center Night Market, held on September 26โ27, 2025, was a vibrant success, bringing together local businesses, performers, and community members for two unforgettable evenings of culture, food, and entertainment.
One vendor, A. G. Cole (G. Reese), shared this heartfelt reflection about his experience:
โDear CACCWA Team,
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to you all for inviting me to be part of the White Center Night Market. What an incredible experience โ the night air was alive with energy, culture, and community spirit. From Cambodian and Southeast Asian performances to African American and Native American representation. From the martial arts, dancing, stories of the people and the land, to the live rap, the entire evening was a powerful celebration of history, art, and resilience.
My booth stood right in the middle of it all, and the response from the community was overwhelmingly positive. In fact, people loved my products; they commented on my creativity and the story behind what I do โ this was more than I hoped for! Without question, this was my most successful show to date, not just in sales but in spirit.
One moment that Iโll never forget came when a mother bought her little boy a pair of my Tech-Glasses. He put them on, then abruptly lifted them up, looked around, and said, โThis is the fake world.โ Then he put them back on, smiled, and said, โThis is the real world.โ The glasses glowed brightly in the setting sun, and the three of us just looked at each other โ amazed, touched, and inspired. That small exchange captured exactly what makes community events like this so powerful: connection, imagination, and the spark of something bigger than all of us.
The event was seamless, vibrant, and full of life โ from the performances to the coordination to the sense of unity in the crowd. Thank you to the entire CACCWA team, the Participatory Budget Program of King County, and all the partners and performers who made this possible โ including the White Center Community Development Association, the United Southeast Asian Cultural Association, and the Eazy Duz It Car Club. The 50 years of Southeast Asian cultural celebration were honored beautifully.โ
โจ Community Impact
The event attracted more than 1,500 attendees from White Center and surrounding neighborhoods, creating a welcoming space to celebrate cultural diversity and support small businesses. Families enjoyed live performances, delicious food, and unique shopping opportunities while connecting with neighbors and friends.ย Attendees and vendors sharedย positive feedback, expressing excitement and appreciation for the event.
The White Center Night Market made a meaningful impact on the community by promoting inclusivity, supporting local businesses, and celebrating cultural diversity. The event welcomed over 1,500 attendees from White Center and neighboring areas, creating a safe and lively space where people of all backgrounds could come together.
With vibrant performances, a wide variety of food, and unique small business offerings, the Night Market encouraged cultural exchange and community connection. Performances from Cambodian, Southeast Asian, African American, and Native American artists highlighted the richness of the regionโs cultural landscape, helping attendees learn about and appreciate different cultures.
The event also supported the local economy by increasing foot traffic to nearby businesses and giving small business owners valuable exposure. Many vendors reported forming new customer connections and expressed excitement about participating in future events.
Families and community members enjoyed a welcoming, family-friendly environment filled with music, art, and authentic cuisine. The Night Market strengthened relationships among neighbors, vendors, and community organizations, positioning White Center as a hub for cultural celebration and small business growth.
Overall, the White Center Night Market was a unifying eventโbringing together residents, artists, and entrepreneurs to celebrate diversity, creativity, and community spirit.
๐ Support for Small Businesses
Over 34 vendors participated, including food, retail, craft & art, and nonprofit organizations. Many were immigrant, women-owned, and BIPOC businesses, and for some, this was their first time vending at a public event. The Night Market gave vendors an opportunity to increase visibility, boost sales, and build new customer connections.
๐ถ Live Performances & Entertainment
The stage came alive with music, dance, car show, and cultural performances that showcased the rich talent of the community. Local artists received stipends, reflecting our commitment to valuing and supporting performers as integral contributors to the eventโs success.
๐ก Partnerships & Collaboration
This event was made possible through collaboration with Seattle King County, community partners WCCDA,ย and volunteers. Their contributions ensured smooth operations from vendor support and logistics to cultural programming.
๐ Looking Ahead
The White Center Night Market showed how powerful community-driven events can be in uplifting small businesses, celebrating cultural diversity, and fostering joy. With such strong attendance positive feedback, and high vendor satisfaction, we are excited to grow this celebration even bigger next year!
